this was really my first blog

haha, eto yun... basa!!!


unfortunately this will be my very first blog ever… i know i have the capacity to do something like this but my only problem is that i lack the motivation that is required to write something.. guess what.. im only writing this because i dont have anything to do right now and im so fu#$&ng bored… its already 5 in the morning and my body clock was already maladapted due to mu duty as a nurse,, yes.. you heard it right.. im a student nurse and im already in 3rd year,,,

sleep dont want to show up to me pa… im supposed to have a duty right now but our CI (clinical Instructor) will be having her MA today so she cancelled it.

actually she didnt cancel it, she just moved it to an earlier time.. 7pm-11pm so that will make my rounds as a night shift. but again, unfortunately she cancelled it and she decided to continue the duty time of the group before us..

she said pla to our acting leader, Cindy (our leader had his sinus operated and therefore cannot attend our duty to rest) na we dont have any duty na talaga.. but again, one more time, unfortunately my cellphone is not working properly so i didnt receive the message that was supposedly sent to me (kya pla walang ngtetext saken buong maghapon.. akala ko no one loves me.. hehe) kya i went to VGH to attend my duty. i thought i was late pa nga but i was surprised na the group before us is still there and they said to me that their duty is extended and will cover our time that leads to the cancellation of our duty… boohoo wattalyf.

I dont want to go home yet so i decided to “makiduty” in order for my effort to not go to waste.. and there i found out that nightshift is better than our shift because there is always something to do.. unlike in graveyard where all the patients are asleep and as a student nurse, you have nothing to do but to sleep too.. (although bawal) haha “graveyard boredom” is killing me.. i hate monotonous chores and i always want variety so its hard for me to cope up with my situation right now.. wala ren ako mpaglilibangan na iba because i dont have an iPod, even an MP3.. i dont have PSP.. my cell is broke.. AAAAHHHH BOREDOM!!!!

Enough with my reklamos (with an “s” talaga) and go on with some of the wonderful things i have learned in my first duty:

I learned “IV out” or yung your going to tanggal the IV.. its fun actually, because it requires determination and pagiingat… i also learned to.. uh… eerr… what do you call that? i cant remember but you going to expel the air bubbles in the iv line via twisting the iv line so that the drip chamber will resume to its “dropping” state.. IV flushing.. i also learned it.. you use it as a last resort when air bubbles dont want to be expelled(as if they have life).. i also learned to put on a “bigkis” to a mother.. hehe

But the pride of my gained knowledge is… TAN TAN TAN TAN…

YES!! i learned to put in an enema… its hard.. because one, its an invasive procedure, two, omg it stinks, three, you will pity the patient as the procedures goes on and for,,, time consuming..

puttting in the rectal tubing is already hardwork (although we used suction tube nalang because VGH doesnt hava any rectal tube) why? because there is the fear that you might hurt the patient as you put the tube in.. when you put it in, there is some kind of force that push the tube outside.. there is also some force that acts like blockage.. i cant put it in at first but i must so i have no choice but to do it… at first I hurt the patient..( i know it, im sensitive) but i learned that the technique to it was to put it firmly but gently and put it in in fastly….

The whole procedure took us the whole duty time and the procedure is still not finished (12-5am) but the time was not wasted.. it was worth it bacause we experience firsthand the procedure that could have been very frightening if done incorrectly.. hhaayyy

i think this will be the end of this very first blog of mine.. i wish there will be more of this to come.. where my thought just keep sailing and flowing… this is my first so im sorry if there is some grammatical mistakes or whatever.. to all of you who is reading this (if there is any and if there will be any) thank you for you time..Ü
